Brief Bio

Nancy Shipley

Nancy is a very talented seamstress and crafter, spending most of her non working hours working on crafts and sewing projects. She is the mother of two adorable talented  children (ok so they were adorable when they were little), Karen and Amanda.  While her children were young Nancy could always be found creating different types of crafts from air freshener mice to unbelievable halloween costumes and even custom photo albums.

Having to take a full time job while her children were in school, Nancy got away from her crafts for a period of time. Now that her children have grown and moved out she has gotten back into her crafting circles again and recently she started creating what she called gift cakes for different events and celebrations. Nancy got this idea after a year filled with baby showers and weddings and after 27 baby showers she naturally started to develop a pattern for making these custom gift cakes. They are called cakes because they are several gifts layered in a cake-like fashion to create one big beautiful gift.

And a business was born

Using the idea behind her baby shower cakes, she also started creating wedding cakes and other event cakes. (Again these cakes are not your traditional cake but several gifts compiled together to create a cakelike gift). To date Nancy has created several custom cakes to include;

The idea behind the cakes is to offer an amazing gift that can be functional (or a keepsake). While many new parents may never use any of the products included, some will use the products giving this gift the functionality of two gifts in one, this unique gift takes the practicality many want from an event type gift with the beauty and grace of a keepsake.
